Anhinga Writers' Studio Summer Writing Workshops, 2009-2010

I collaborated with two other partners to assume leadership of the "Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Writing the Region" annual writing conference. After incorporating as the Anhinga Writers' Studio, we updated and upgraded the conference, including venue, format, faculty and course offerings. In 2009 and 2010, we hosted two successful 5-day workshops, with 15 to 20 faculty per year teaching up to 45 90-minute sessions.

Our guest speaker in 2009 was Charlaine Harris, author of the Southern Vampire Mysteries featuring Sookie Stackhouse--the basis of HBO's hit series "True Blood."
